While we love your music, we can’t buy it anymore. Some of us become fans but most of us are just listeners. However, all of us are consumers who have a certain taste in music & style. What we wear, listen to, and experience is what defines our lives. Our personalities label us and helps us find our crowd. It’s our lifestyle and it’s what we love. But what exactly is it?

You have 1 album that took you 1 year to record and the tech companies are giving away your only asset for free. If you go on tour you can sell 1 ticket to 1 person, 1 time per year. But then what? You start building up a fan base after they already bought your product (a song, an album, ticket, souvenir). Then you go on hiatus to record another album and everyone forgets about you. When you finally have more material for your fans the vicious cycle begins all over again.

If you take a look at the music business as a business, it’s not sustainable, even if you were still selling $9.99 CDs. I thought you just needed to sell better t-shirts to convince me to buy one, but unless I’m a die hard fan, which I haven’t been since following the Smashing Pumpkins in the 90’s,  I don’t need a wardrobe full of tour t-shirts. You need money and I’m trained to make money, so how about we start there?

So here’s the deal. You can keep your merch deals. We tried that route and it didn’t work. Unless you are a super star selling out arenas, we don’t have time and money to invest into your business. We can’t wait months for licensing approvals only to get rejections and start over. The idea put me out of business so it was time to rethink. Do we build this company for me to be a fashion designer and dress pop stars? Do we build this company for your fans who want to buy things with your name on it? Or do we build this company for you to make money? Guess what? You win.

First we need you to build a community for us and I believe it starts with a larger number of artists who have less fans than a smaller number of artists who have more fans. I always said I built this company for the artists not investors or artists who already achieved their dreams. I’m thankful I waited for the right time and the right people to stand behind me. I hope you’ll be one of them.

  3. MM Curators will review your material for our 2019 Boombox Boutique Playlists & Collections
  4. If curated for a Boombox Boutique you will be invited for available Membership Packages
